Job Summary: Provides direct care and assistance to residents in the Health Center under the supervision of licensed staff and in accordance with McKendree Village policies and procedures.
Duties of Job:

Works to support the team in order to provide the best quality care possible, demonstrating the importance of customer satisfaction towards residents, family members, visitors, physicians, and co-workers. Works to effectively meet customer needs, building productive customer relationships, taking responsibility for customer relationships, taking responsibility for customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Provides assistance, part or total, with ADL’s (bathing, dressing, hygiene, toileting).

Obtains vital signs, weights, heights, and intake and output correctly.

Serves trays, feeds patients, removes trays.

Transfers residents as necessary using proper techniques.

Gives fresh water, ice, and nourishments, documents accurately on diet sheets, flow sheets and supplement book.

Follows proper standard precautions and infection control measures.

Makes beds and maintains general tidiness of resident care area and unit, including cleaning of equipment.

Correctly uses restraints, positioning and adaptive equipment, mechanical lifts, century tub and other equipment used in daily care of residents.

Ensures that residents receive proper care by performing periodic rounds in compliance with unit floor routines, turning bed-bound residents frequently enough to prevent skin breakdown.

Complies with nursing department and facility policies and procedures.

Demonstrates reliable reporting habits and participates in rounds with employees of off-going and on-coming shifts.

Reports concerns and changes in resident conditions to charge nurse.

Gives Post Mortem care.

Collects Specimens.

Floats willingly to other units as situations necessitate.

Other duties as assigned and directed by charge nurse.
Minimum Requirments:

Must have completed a State Approved Certification course and have successfully passed a State Certification exam.

Must be actively certified as a Certified Nurse Assistant.

If certified in another state, must be seeking reciprocity with Tennessee. (Cannot work more than 4 months without Tennessee certification.)

High School diploma or GED.
