Position Description
Public Health Nurse* Full Time: $3,972-$5,926/Month Part Time: $22.92-$34.20/Hour DEadline: Open Until Filled (Job Opening ID #500026) (Health Dept/Child Immunization/Health Division/2400 Troost) One part-time and several full-time positions available. Normal Work Days/Hours for part-time position: 3 days per week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday between the hours of 8 a.m-5 p.m. Highly responsible work under direct supervision of the Public Health Nurse Supervisor-Child Health and Immunization Program, Adult/Travel Immunization and Immigration Clinic. Exercises independent judgment and initiative within the Program. May be required to wear a high efficiency respirator mask and other personal protective equipment when delivering services within an area assessed as high risk for exposure to infectious diseases. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds when assisting with community and clinic based activities. The ability to climb stairs to access client residents is essential. Responsible for providing nurse duties in the Well Child and Immunization Program, including direct patient care and consultation. Part time Refugee Health Nurse and Immunization Nurse: Provide health assessments and immunization to newly arriving refugees to the Kansas City area both adult and children. Conduct TB skin testing and evaluations coordinate with Immunization nurses for follow-up of 2nd and 3rd doses as appropriate. Provide medical referrals for health conditions beyond the scope of the Health Department. Have the ability to perform phlebotomy as needed. Requires a license as a registered nurse as determined by the Missouri State Board of Nursing or a state having reciprocity with the state of Missouri. **If you are interested in full or part time please indicate that on your resume or on your profile in PeopleSoft.
