Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Float
Facility: Iredell Memorial Hospital
Unit: MS Float
Location: 557 Brookdale Dr, Statesville, NC 28677
Start Date: May 19, 2025
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Hours: 48 preferred; 36 accepted
Scrubs: Caribbean Blue
EMR: Cerner (strongly preferred)
Compensation for 48 hours: $2912 Per Week
- Compensation for 40 hours:
- Weekly Gross: $2,360.00 Per Week
- On W2(Taxable): $800.00 Per Week ($20/hour)
- Stipend (Non-Taxable): $1,560.00 Per Week
Job Duties
- Float to various medical-surgical units based on staffing needs
- Care for adult patients with a variety of diagnoses including respiratory illness, pancreatitis, GYN surgeries, and hemodialysis
- Perform comprehensive assessments, manage dysrhythmias, and utilize Rapid Response protocols
- Administer medications (e.g., Heparin, Insulin), blood products, and IV therapies
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, feeding tubes, colostomies, and chest tubes
- Utilize respiratory support equipment (HFNC, oxygen masks) and isolation precautions
- Document all care in Cerner EMR system
- Work every other weekend and some holidays
Requirements
- Licensure: Active North Carolina or Compact RN License (required at submission)
- Certifications:
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support - required due to occasional pediatric patients)
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year (2 years preferred)
- First-time travelers accepted
- Charge RN experience preferred
Clinical Skills:
- MS/Tele experience
- IV start, central/PICC line care
- Blood product administration
- Management of pre/post hemodialysis
- Chest tubes and respiratory support equipment
Other Requirements:
- COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- Must float within facility
Previous Charge experience preferred Float - Required
